The Philadelphia Outreach Development Council is a non-for-profit 501c3 organization. Our mission is to empower the core structure of families and the community by fostering education, hands on training, cultural enrichment and economic self-sufficiency.  We will utilize the arts, media and technology to educate, inspire, and motivate the inner-city youth.  We will provide employment, training, counseling, therapy, and life skills for the community.

Over the last 10 years, we have worked diligently to increase our community footprint by hosting health fairs, back to school drives, sponsorships of several area shelters with food and clothing.  Our organization has given away toys partnering with ‘Toys for Tots’, Angel Tree, feeding Homeless adults & teens; and presently working with ‘Grand’s as Parents’, a nationwide organization providing sponsorship support to Grandparents that have been forced to provide primary care to their grandchildren.  We also work with Families Forward, a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to providing information, advice, guidance, protection, and shelter to Philadelphia’s homeless families.

We have performed all aspects of the events through volunteer help over the past 10 years.  While using our own resources, we decided to form the Philadelphia Outreach Development Council as a non-profit organization and seek grants to fund support of our mission to impact the youth of Philadelphia and their families.

Our communities and families are facing serious and complex challenges in the Philadelphia/Tri State area.  They deal daily with issues of layoffs/unemployment, low self-esteem, lack of skills/education, and violence, which often leads to hopelessness and despair.  Many of our families in our inner-city communities never receive the information, support and/ or guidance to make good decisions.

Our approach is a direct response to the issues responsible for our young people falling through the cracks at home, school, and in the community.  The adverse effect leads to the youth going into a juvenile court system and ultimately prison.

The goal of our organization is to focus on the youth in the following categories; elementary, middle school, and high school.  Our program is STEMA+ (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Arts, and Financial Literacy).  The STEMA+ program will educate, inspire, and motivate our youth.  We will provide employment, training, counseling, therapy, and life skills for the youth.

We will feature influential and highly qualified men and women from different sectors such as Business, Politics, Sports, Land Development/Preservation, and Entertainment.  We will also include an array of possibilities so that the complete family can realize their own personal potential. We will introduce them to other successful men and women in their communities, who have made a significant difference today.
